Due to its thermal and mechanical properties, this semi-crystalline material belongs to the polymer group of standard plastics. It has a good rigidity and hardness. PP is not prone to stress cracking. Homopolymeric Polypropylene has a very low density and a very high heat deflection temperature in the group of polyolefins. The chemical resistance is very high. The additional designation “HT” in this medical grade material stands for high temperature resistant; thanks to our specifically developed post-treatment, the heat resistance increases into a range which allows a repeated steam sterilization at 2 bar (134°C). The raw materials used for the production of the round rods and sheets in white color comply with regulations of FDA and 10/2011/EC for food contact materials. Features: High heat resistance; High tensile strength; High surface strength; Low density; Very high chemical resistance; Resistant to superheated steam sterilization; Brittle in the coldness; Applications: Sterilization cassettes and inserts; Centrifuge trays; Analysis technology Information provided by GEHR Plastics, Inc. |
