Phillips 66® Quintolubric 958-30 is an invert emulsion (water-in-oil) fire-resistant hydraulic fluid designed for use in hydraulic systems operating in areas subject to fire hazards, such as in steel mills, foundries, and mining equipment. It combines the benefits of an oil-based hydraulic fluid with the fire-resistant properties of water. It is approved by the MSHA for use in underground mining equipment. Quintolubric 958-30 is formulated with ~45% water emulsified with petroleum oil. When exposed to a source of ignition, the oil film may catch fire, but the fire is immediately snuffed out by steam from the water core. A carefully balanced additive package provides enhanced lubricity and excellent emulsion stability, as well as excellent wear protection and corrosion protection for hydraulic system components. Applications: - Hydraulic systems subject to fire hazards
- Underground mining equipment requiring a fire-resistant, MSHA-approved hydraulic fluid
- Steel mills, foundries, and manufacturing plants
