Product Description: Akroform Retarder PX-75 is a dispersion of oil treated phthalic anhydride on an EPR polymeric binder. This non-discoloring retarding agent is utilized to reduce scorching of rubber compounds at processing temperatures and is most effective with thiazoles (MBTS, MBT, and ZMBT) or activated thiazole type systems. The recommended level of usage is approximately 0.5 - 1.0 phr. Retarder PX has little retarding effect at curing temperatures and does not bloom with recommended amounts. Phthalic anhydride is listed in FDA CFR 21, Part 177.2600, rubber articles in contact with food. Retarder PX will also reduce natural rubber. Advantages: Polymer bound or encapsulated dispersions are a proven means of upgrading plant safety, efficiency, quality & raw material control. Akrochem polymer bound or encapsulated chemical dispersions eliminate any irritating dust, as well as other potential hazards in handling powders in the plant. The physical form is easy to handle and weigh accurately. With a dispersion, better uniformity of the mix at lower processing temperatures is possible. Information provided by Akrochem Corporation |
