Sandvik 2002 Precision Wire
Categories: Metal; Ferrous Metal; Ferritic; Stainless Steel

Material Notes: Sandvik 2002 is a ferritic stainless steel used for length turning automatics. Special applications are fine mechanicals and electronics there magnetical material can be used.

Sandvik 2002 has very good cutting properties both at low and high cutting speeds. Material gives low wear on tools at machining on high speed steel and hard metals. This gives very high precision on final products and possibilities to increase cutting speeds and improve productivity.

Very good machining properties and the corrosion resistance is equal to or better than material of type SS2346. Resistivity against general corrosion is very good.

Sandvik 2002 has cold deformation properties equal to Sandvik 1802.

Service temperature -60 to 300°C. Long time use at elevated temperatures gives brittleness.
