Material Notes: General Description

Tantalum (Ta) Nanoparticles, nanodots or nanopowder are spherical or faceted high surface area metal particles. Nanoscale Tantalum Particles are typically 10-20 nanometers (nm) with specific surface area (SSA) in the 30 – 60 m 2 /g range and also available in with an average particle size of 80 nm range with a specific surface area of approximately 12 m 2 /g. Nano Tantalum Particles are also available in Ultra high purity and high purity and coated and dispersed forms. Applications for Tantalum nanocrystals include as a superconductor, as a dopant in photoelectrode materials, for their Magnetooptical effects, for use in micro-batteries and further research is being done for their electrical, and dielectric properties. Tantalum Nano Particles are generally immediately available in most volumes.
