Material Notes:	Cerium (III) Sulfide Powder is one of the sulfides of cerium, the chemical formula is Ce2S3. ?-Ce2S3 is a brownish-red solid, and its color changes to orange when it is mixed with alkali metals. Cerium(III) Sulfide Powder was synthesized via the sulfurization of ceria (CeO2) powder using carbon disulfide gas. Applications: Cerium sesquisulfide (Ce2S3) has many applications stemming from its high temperature stability and electronic configuration. Cerium (III) Sulfide Powder is used in laboratory researches. It is a semiconductor with a band gap of 2.06 eV and a high Seebeck coefficient. It can be used as a high temperature pigment due to its bright red color. Cerium sesquisulfide is also an essential compound that is often required for the synthesis of cerium monosulfide.
