ChevronTexaco Oil Rust Proof
Categories: Fluid; Lubricant

Material Notes: Texaco Rust Proof Oil delivers value through:
  • Good short-term rust protection — Low viscosity oil provides complete coverage of metal surfaces for maximum protection against oxidation and corrosion. After evaporation of the solvent, a thin, highly protective, nondrying oily film remains to protect the metal. Oxidation and corrosion inhibitors in the oil resist chemical attack by air, water, other fluids and particulate matter.
  • Easy application and rapid run-off — Low viscosity assures easy application, complete coverage and fast drain-off of excess oil. High volatility of the solvent ensures rapid evaporation, minimizing post-application dripping.
  • Easy removal — Thin transparent oily film is readily soluble in petroleum solvent or kerosene to enable easy removal when required.

Texaco Rust Proof Oil is a low viscosity, rust protective oil designed for the temporary rust protection of steel in covered storage or packaged shipment.

It contains oxidation and corrosion inhibitors and is diluted with a petroleum solvent for ease of application.

Texaco Rust Proof Oil is recommended for use as temporary protection of sheet steel, hand tools, small parts, bearings and highly machined surfaces under relatively mild conditions of indoor storage, packaged shipment or inter-process handling.

May be applied by brush, dip or spray.

Where a higher level of oily film rust protection is required, Texaco Metal Protective Oil L should be used.

Where rusting conditions are severe, Texaco Rust Proof Compound is recommended.

Typical test data are average values only. Minor variations which do not affect product performance are to be expected in normal manufacturing.
