Key Features:- Convenient handling
- Withstands thermal cycling and shock
- Cryogenically serviceable
- Reliable electrical insulator
Master Bond EP30DPBFMed is a versatile, two component epoxy system that meets USP Class VI requirements. Parts A and B are liquids with a mix ratio of 10 to 1 by weight. The system’s most outstanding characteristic is its toughness. It has an interesting chemistry where the rigidity of the epoxy is modified by the addition of a urethane based flexibilizer. This modification confers a lower Shore D hardness to the cross linked entity. It also enables a higher elongation than normally seen with basic epoxy compounds. It has a long working life, and after mixing, a very low exotherm. EP30DPBFMed cures readily at ambient temperatures or more rapidly at elevated temperatures. Optimal curing is overnight at room temperature followed by 2-4 hours at 150°F. The system is 100% reactive and does not contain any solvents or diluents. EP30DPBFMed bonds well to a wide variety of substrates including metals, ceramics, composites, glass and many plastics. Its toughness allows it to withstand rigorous thermal cycling and shock as well as mechanically induced vibration. The epoxy-urethane backbone of this system gives it a higher level of abrasion resistance than more standard epoxy. It is also an excellent electrical insulator. Another very special property is cryogenic serviceability with a temperature range extending from 4K to +250°F. The color of Part A is clear, and Part B is amber clear. EP30DPBFMed is used primarily in conjunction with disposable or reusable medical devices. It fully passes USP Class VI testing. Although not intended for repeated autoclaving, it does very well with gamma, EtO and many liquid sterilization compounds. Product Advantages: - Versatile curing options
- Long working life and low exotherm
- Less rigid than most epoxies
- Cryogenically serviceable
- Can be used in conjunction with many medical devices
