Chesterton MRS 5 Metal Rebuilding System
Categories: Ceramic

Material Notes: MRS 5 is an advanced composite formulated for emergency repair and patching of metal components subject to light abrasive and corrosive conditions. It can be used to seal leaks and patch holes as well as rebuild worn surfaces quickly, returning the damaged component back to service faster than conventional welding. MRS 5 is designed to cure underwater. It is normally applied at a thickness of 3 mm (1/8”) or more. MRS 5 is 100% solids, non-shrinking.

Benefits:

  • Exceptional resistance to permeation in water immersion
  • Excellent leak repair compound due to high build characteristics in single coat application with rapid cure
  • Cures underwater
  • Tough resin structure resist thermal-mechanical shock
  • Outstanding adhesion insures reliable performance
  • Labor and downtime are reduced due to ease of application and rapid curing
  • Convenient 4 -1 mix ratio and verification of mix by color change
  • Cures at temperatures as low as 4°C (40°F)

Suggested Uses:

  • Condensers
  • Cooling Water Pumps
  • Flange Faces
  • Pump Volutes
  • Valve Bodies
  • Pneumatic Transport Lines
  • Pipe Elbows
  • Pitted Pipes
  • Heat Exchangers
  • Pitted Tanks and Vessels
