Lucite International Lucite® 41 Acrylic Bead Resin
Categories: Polymer; Thermoplastic; Acrylic (PMMA); Acrylic, General Purpose, Molded

Material Notes: Lucite® 41 is used for casting and embedment and has a lower optical quality than other Lucite® grades. It is a methyl methacrylate homopolymer.

General Lucite® Acrylic Bead Resin Information: Used in casting and embedment, compression molding, dental applications, or glass separation. End products have outstanding UV resistance, Excellent weatherability, superior abrasion resistance, excellent resistance to water, alcohol, dilute acids and bases, chemical fumes, and corrosive/oxidizing environments, high gloss and hardness, water-white color and transparency, and resistance to discoloration when heated. Lucite® resins are available as minute spherical beads, water-white only (no tints) and transparent. Thermally stable to 230°C. At higher temperatures (260°C and above), they undergo smooth depolymerization to monomers, leaving negligible ash.

Data provided by the manufacture. Properties reported below are from test specimens machined from compression molded parts.
