Solvay MTM® 80S Phenolic Resin Matrix

Material Notes: MTM80S is a 140 to 160°C (284 to 320°F) curing phenolic resin matrix offering high temperature resistance and excellent fire, smoke and toxicity characteristics. MTM80S can be supplied on a range of fibers and fabrics optimized for ballistic, ablative and general industrial applications, and as precursor for carbon-carbon composite production.

Features & Benefits:

  • 30 days out life 12°C (70°F)
  • 12 months storage at -18°C (0°F)
  • Recommended cure 30 mins at 160°C (320°F) for 3mm laminates
  • Maximum service temperature up to 100°C (212°F)
  • Can be optimized for ballistic characteristics
  • Ablative characteristics for rocket motor applications
  • Excellent charring characteristic for carbon-carbon composite production
