Momentive Performance Materials RTV159 High Strength Silicone Adhesive Sealant, Red
Categories: Polymer; Adhesive; Thermoset; Silicone; Silicone, RTV, Adhesive/Sealant Grade

Material Notes: RTV 159 is a one component, ready-to-use, high strength silicone rubber adhesive sealant. It cures to tough resilient silicone rubber on exposure to atmospheric moisture at room temperature. RTV159 sealant also provides high temperature performance. It releases acetic acid vapors as a by-products of cure.

RTV159 sealant is a paste consistency product which can be applied to horizontal, vertical, and overhead surfaces in applications requiring high strength and temperature performance.

Since this adhesive sealants utilizes a moisture cure system, it must not be used in thicknesses greater than 6mm(1/4in.). Where section depths exceed 6mm (1/4 in.), GE Silicones one-component, addition cure or two-component silicone rubber compounds are suggested.

This sealant was not designed for and should not be used for applications intended for permanent implantation into the human body.

Mechanical properties for specimen cured 3 days at 25°C and 50% relative humidity.
