Master Bond EP42HT-2FG Black Two component, high temperature resistant epoxy
Categories: Polymer; Thermoset; Epoxy

Material Notes: Key Features:
  • Convenient processing
  • Good physical strength properties
  • Excellent chemical resistance properties
  • Meets 175.105 food grade requirement
Product Description: Master Bond Polymer System EP42HT-2FG Black is a two component epoxy for indirect food contact as per FDA specification 175.105. This flowable epoxy has an easy to use mix ratio of 100 to 30 by weight. After mixing, EP42HT-2FG Black has an exceptionally long working life of 105-150 minutes. Although it cures at room temperature, the recommended cure schedule is overnight at ambient temperature followed by 3-4 hours at 150°F. This system contains no solvents and has very low shrinkage upon curing. EP42HT-2FG Black bonds well to a wide variety of substrates including metals, composites, ceramics, glass, plastics and rubbers. It is highly resistant to acids, bases, solvents, water, (including boiling water), as well as many other harsh chemicals. It is a robust thermal and electrical insulator. The system resists thermal cycling while retaining good dimensional stability. It has an attractive array of desirable physical properties including high tensile strength and modulus. Additionally, EP42HT-2FG Black has a high Tg with a service temperature range of -60°F to 450°F. The color of Part A is black and Part B is amber clear. Also, this epoxy is lower exotherm and can be used for potting and encapsulation. EP42HT-2FG Black should be considered for indirect food applications particularly when the surrounding environment is aggressive.

Product Advantages:

  • Easy to mix and apply
  • Low exotherm, long working life
  • Multi functional, for bonding, sealing, coating, potting
  • Outstanding chemical resistance
  • Optically opaque, black color
