Wacker Wacker® L 655 Silicone Fluid
Categories: Fluid; Polymer

Material Notes: Product description: WACKER® L 655 is an aminofunctional polydimethylsiloxane with crosslinking properties. In comparison with conventional polydimethylsiloxanes of the series WACKER® AK, WACKER® L 655 exhibits excellent affinity to various surfaces. In the presence of atmospheric humidity or other reactive polish actives, e. g., acid waxes, WACKER® L 655 cross-links forming a stable, insoluble polymer film which exhibits an outstanding affinity to substrates and detergent resistance.

Application: WACKER® L 655 can be used in paint conditioners and paint polishes, both, solvent and water-based. Appropriate formulations will ensure the required effects, e.g. gloss, depth of image, and detergent resistance, without affecting the polishability. For this purpose, it has proved to be advantageous to blend WACKER® L 655 with WACKER® L 654 in a ratio of approx. 1 : 5. Additional use of WACKER® AK silicone fluids and suitable waxes can be recommended.
