Material Notes:	The bismuth and selenium additions take the place of lead in this yellow brass. The melting and machining behavior make this alloy a plausible substitute for C85800 in plumbing applications. Medium section size effect on mechanical properties of castings. Hot tearing in permanent mold castings is much reduced versus leaded yellow brass C85800; no hot tearing was observed for samples with Bi < 1.2%. Does exhibit severe hot tearing when superheat is greater than 234°F (130°C). Information from the Copper Development Association.
