Ensinger PEI
ChevronTexaco Taro® 16 XD SAE 30
Categories: Fluid; Lubricant

Material Notes: Texaco Taro 16 XD delivers value through:
  • Wear protection — Superior antiwear characteristics result in reduced wear on all moving engine components. Controls ring and liner wear through its ability to neutralize acids formed by the combustion of sulphur in fuel, permitting longer overhaul periods. High performance antiwear additives provide excellent protection for cams, camshaft and bearings.
  • Detergent/Dispersant properties — Prevents the formation of high temperature piston deposits, as well as low temperature sludge, in order to guarantee continuous oil flow inside the engine.
  • Oxidation stability — Provides a very high thermal and oxidation stability withstanding high thermal stresses of high output trunk piston engines and reducing undercrown deposits. Offers protection against liner lacquer formation, and is therefore suitable for use in low sulphur gas oil applications under high load conditions.
  • Rust protection — Formulated to provide excellent rust protection as required in stern tube applications.
  • Balanced additive combination — Ensures high quality performance with excellent overall protection. Provides minimum maintenance and down-time, long engine life and economical operating costs.

Texaco Taro 16 XD is a high performance medium alkaline diesel engine oil for medium and high-speed trunk piston diesel engines.

Texaco Taro 16 XD is a 16 base number oil, blended from carefully refined high quality base oils in combination with a specially developed package containing alkaline detergents, dispersants, oxidation and corrosion inhibitors, and antiwear agents.

Texaco Taro 16 XD is recommended for the lubrication of medium and high-speed turbo charged and naturally aspirated diesel engines, operating on gas oil and marine diesel oil containing low to medium sulfur levels (up to 1.8%).

Texaco Taro 16 XD is especially developed for marine and power generation applications. Texaco Taro 16 XD is highly suitable for applications which include a separator in the lubrication system. Texaco Taro 16 XD can be used in a multitude of applications such as reduction gears, air compressors, medium loaded gear applications, stern tubes, propulsion and auxiliary engines. This allows a reduction in the number of oils on board.

Texaco Taro 16 XD meets the requirements of the major high and medium-speed marine diesel engine manufacturers.

Texaco Taro 16 XD meets the performance requirements of API Service Category CF.

Typical test data are average values only. Minor variations which do not affect product performance are to be expected in normal manufacturing.
