Chesterton 386 Grinding Fluid  (discontinued **)
Categories: Fluid

Material Notes: Description: Chesterton 386 Grinding Fluid is a full synthetic premium coolent designed to provide maximum productivity and the highest g-ratios with minimum downtime due to wheel loading, sump changeout and selective dragout of key performance additives. Low foaming and oil free, the product is ideally suited for all grinding applications including the high-pressure demands of centerless grinding. Often, when conventional soluble oil emulsions are used throughout the shop, they are also applied to grinding applications. This results in a much greater wheel loading than is necessary due to swarf entrapment within the oil emulsion particles. Wheels then have to be dressed more frequently to restore performance. In addition, because the friction generated during grinding is well in excess of typical cutting applications, it is more important than ever to have the most efficient heat transfer possible. A full synthetic accomplishes this far better than any product containing oil

Features:

  • Fully Synthetic
  • High attainable g-ratios (metal removal/wheel loss)
  • Maximum oil demulsablity, superior rejection of tramp oil
  • Clear, transparent fluid
  • Superior heat dissipation
  • High detergency; minuses wheel loading
  • Excellent settling of fines; provides best surface finishes
  • Biodegradable
  • Contains no mineral oil; non misting
  • Long sump life; resist growth of bacteria and fungus
  • Easily filtered; recyclable
  • Excellent lubricity for lowest friction
