Characterization: Acclaim 3300N polyol is a 3,000-molecular-weight triol. Properties / Applications: Acclaim 3300N polyol is a high-performance, low monol polyether that is prepared with Covestro's proprietary IMPACT™ technology, using a patented organo-metallic propoxylation catalyst. The terminal end-groups are predominantly secondary hydroxyls and have a relatively low reactivity. Because this product is not acidified, care must be taken using it in isocyanate-terminated prepolymers. Acclaim 3300N polyol is used in polyurethane and other applications, including cast elastomers, sealants, adhesives, epoxy flexibilizers, defoamers, reaction injection molding (RIM), lubricants, crude oil de-emulsifiers and plasticizers. Acclaim 3300N polyol is a complementary product to Acclaim 2200 polyol, an ultra-low monol diol with the same equivalent weight. Overall polyol functionality can easily be varied by blending these two polyols. Acclaim 3300N polyol should be acidified prior to use in prepolymer applications. This polyol contains extremely low levels of monol. In some polyurethane systems, formulation changes, such as reducing the crosslinking level or changing the hard-segment content, may be necessary to maximize the benefits of using Acclaim polyols. As with any product, use of Acclaim 3300N polyol in a given application must be tested (including but not limited to field testing) in advance by the user to determine suitability.
