ChevronTexaco Biostar® Hydraulic 46
Categories: Fluid; Lubricant

Material Notes: Texaco Biostar Hydraulic oils deliver value through:
  • Environmental sensitivity — Readily biodegradable formulation supports use in environmentally sensitive applications.
  • Reduced maintenance — Ashless antiwear additive provides excellent protection against wear of hydraulic pumps, while all system components are protected by effective rust and corrosion inhibitors.
  • Trouble-free operation — Fully compatible with all hydraulic system components and seals, and compatible with mineral oil based hydraulic fluids (although biodegradability will be reduced if mixed). Retains good filterability in the presence of moisture contamination

Texaco Biostar Hydraulic oils are environmentally friendly antiwear hydraulic oils, specifically designed for use in high performance mobile and stationary equipment where there is a possibility of soil/water contamination or environmental hazard due to fluid spill or leakage. Formulated from natural rapeseed oil and a nonmetallic multifunctional additive package, it exhibits a high degree of biodegradability, as described in CEC-L-33-A94.

Texaco Biostar Hydraulic oils are recommended for use:

  • in all hydraulic systems where the environmental advantages of a biodegradable fluid are desired and operating fluid temperature is within the range -15°C to 80°C
  • in unattended or outdoor equipment in the timber, agriculture, mining and construction industries
  • in shipping and barge operations on inland waterways
  • wherever groundwater contamination by petroleum products is a problem

To ensure optimum performance:
  • keep moisture contamination and condensation levels to a minimum.
  • use reservoir heaters to prevent the oil from solidifying if the hydraulic system becomes idle at or below -15°C (5°F).

Typical test data are average values only. Minor variations which do not affect product performance are to be expected in normal manufacturing.
