Ensinger PEI
ChevronTexaco Sugartex®
Categories: Fluid; Lubricant

Material Notes: Texaco Sugartex delivers value through:
  • Reliability — High lubricant film strength withstands heavy shock loads and provides protection under boundary lubrication to minimize wear rate and prevent failure under heavy loads.
  • Flexibility to use in wet conditions — Outstanding water resistance reduces water washout when operating in a wet environment and protects gears and bearings against rust when exposed to moisture for extended periods.
  • Long equipment life — Timken OK load assures low wear rate even under high load conditions.

Texaco Sugartex lubricants are tenacious, high viscosity, extreme pressure lubricants.

Because they are extremely adhesive and tenacious, all grades are suitable for lubrication of gears or other equipment operating in a wet environment. They are fortified with EP and tackiness additives as well as a foam inhibitor to enhance performance and load carrying ability.

Texaco Sugartex lubricants were developed to lubricate the large, wet, slow moving gears of cane crushers used in the sugar industry. This is a very wet environment where the gears are constantly sprayed with water to remove dust and fly material from the open gear teeth. Texaco Sugartex lubricants maintain high film strength and tenacious coating on the gears to minimize wear under the severe loads and shock loading encountered in this type of operation. For maximum benefit, the gears should be on a horizontal plane and not vertical.

Texaco Sugartex lubricants are designed for use on heavily loaded, slow speed gears, journal bearings, and couplings.

They were originally developed for use in heavily loaded journal bearings in sugar mills.

These products have proven to perform equally well in ball and grinding mill girth gears and similar applications.

They perform well in either a wet or dry environment.

Typical test data are average values only. Minor variations which do not affect product performance are to be expected in normal manufacturing.
