Syensqo (Solvay Specialty Polymers) Tecnoflon® BR 9171 Fluoroelastomer  (Unverified Data**)
Categories: Polymer; Thermoset; Fluoropolymer, TS; Thermoset Fluoroelastomer

Material Notes: Tecnoflon® BR 9171 is a new medium-low viscosity peroxide curable fluoroelastomer with a structure, patented by Solvay, that affords excellent resistance to aggressive oils, amine containing fluids, bases, steam, and sour gases. Tecnoflon® BR 9171 exhibits superior resistance to a wide variety of chemicals coupled with excellent processability. Tecnoflon® BR 9171 can be cross-linked using organic peroxides in conjunction with a co-agent. Compared to Tecnoflon® BR 9151, it shows by far improved chemical resistance in bases and fluids containing amine additives.

Some of the basic properties of Tecnoflon® BR 9171 are:
- Excellent chemical resistance to:
-- Bases
-- ATF fluids and gear lubricants
-- Fluids containing amine additives
-- High PH packages
-- Steam
-- Sour gases
- Very good low temperature flexibility

Tecnoflon® BR 9171 can be used for compression, injection and transfer molding of shaft seals, valve seals, O-rings, gaskets or any item requiring superior chemical resistance.

Tecnoflon® BR 9171 can be combined with the cure system and other typical fluoroelastomer compounding ingredients. Mixing can be accomplished with two-roll mills or internal mixers.

Finished goods may be produced by a variety of rubber processing methods. This material can be extruded into hoses or profiles and can be calendered to make sheet stocks or belting.

Key Attributes: Base Resistant; Chemical Resistant; Crosslinkable; Good Processability; Low Temperature Flexibility; Medium-low Viscosity; Oil Resistant; Steam Resistant
