Ensinger PEI
Advanced Elastomer Systems Vistaflex® 671N Thermoplastic Rubber  (discontinued **)
Categories: Polymer; Thermoplastic; Elastomer, TPE; Thermoplastic Elastomer, Melt-Processible Rubber

Material Notes: A translucent thermoplastic elastomer with snappiness. It can be processed using injection molding or extrusion processing techniques.

Key Features: Flex modulus (1% Secant) 9.0 MPa (1300 psi); Vicat softening point, 60°C (140°F); Melt flow rate (190°C [374°F], 2160 g [76 oz], 2.5 g [0.08 oz]/10min); Excellent PE and PP modifier for improved impact and flexibility; Smooth part appearance; Snappy 'rubber band' performance; Approved for food contact; Low rubber gel contact for film applications

Additional processing comments: Cycle times: initial inject 0.5 to 5 sec; secondary inject 1.5 to 10 sec. Initial inject pressure: high; just short of flash. Inject speed: just short of flash.

Values below are for injection molded plaques, side gated, 82.6 mm x 117.5 mm x 3.0 mm. Tensile properties measured across flow. Data provided by Advanced Elastomer Systems.

Advanced Elastomer Systems is now a part of ExxonMobil. This grade was removed from the Advanced Elastomers Systems standard product line before the ExxonMobil acquisiton.
