Milliken® 2740 Bladder Fabrics
Categories: Other Engineering Material

Material Notes: Milliken Bi-Elastic Bladder fabric is commonly applied to reinforce the turn-up bladders of the tire building machine. The fabric has excellent elongation properties in both longitudinal and transversal direction, which allow a very smooth ‘deformation’ of the bladder together with a significant improvement of its lifetime. Milliken’s Bi-Elastic Bladder fabric is standard RFL treated in order to guarantee a good adhesion to the bladder rubber after vulcanization. The same RFL finish also guarantees the good release properties against the unvulcanized rubber of the green tire. In order to improve its process ability and to simplify the assembly of the bladder, Milliken’s bi-elastic bladder fabric can also be single sided tackified.

Benefits:

  • Increases bladder lifetime up to 30.000 cycles
  • Increases tire production per building machine due to shorter cycle time
  • Material can be slit according to customers’ requirements
  • Fabric is RFL treated to ensure superior adhesion to the bladder
  • The bi-elastic bladder fabric is also available in a single sided tackified version for easier bladder assembly
