USP Class VI Adhesives
USP Class VI Approved Adhesives for Medical Device Applications
Master Bond’s biocompatible adhesives are designed to meet the needs of medical device manufacturers. Compounds withstand various types of sterilization methods.
Master Bond EP42HT-2AN Thermally Conductive Potting Compound
Categories: Polymer; Adhesive; Thermoset; Epoxy; Epoxy Adhesive

Material Notes: Description: Master Bond Polymer System EP42HT-2AN is a room temperature curable two component epoxy adhesive, sealant, coating and casting material featuring high temperature resistance and outstanding chemical resistance. It is widely used, particularly in medical products, because it is capable of withstanding repeat sterilization including radiation, ethylene oxide, chemical sterilants, and steam sterilization. In addition, it fully complies with the testing requirements for USP Class VI plastics. Aside from being a superior adhesive, sealant and coating, EP42HT-2AN is castable to thicknesses exceeding 3-4 inches. EP42HT-2AN cures readily at ambient temperatures or more quickly at elevated temperatures even in the presence of moisture. The cured epoxy compound is resistant not only to various types of sterilization, but also to inorganic and organic acids, alkalis, many organic solvents, aromatic hydrocarbons, etc. EP42HT-2AN is an excellent electrical insulator. Especially noteworthy is its serviceability from -100F up to 400°F combined with being relatively impervious to intermittent exposures to steam. Aside from its widespread use in the medical industry, EP42HT-2AN is also used in electronics, electrical, fiberoptic and optical as well as OEM type applications.

Product Advantages:

  • Convenient non-critical 100:40 mix ratio by weight.
  • Contains no solvents.
  • Convenient cure schedules at both ambient and elevated temperatures.
  • Outstanding resistance to medical sterilants including radiation, ETO, chemicals and steam.
  • Excellent chemical resistance to acids, alkalis and many solvents.
  • Superior thermal stability; serviceable from -100°F up to 400°F.
  • Castable to thicknesses exceeding 3-4 inches.
  • Outstanding thermal conductivity.
