Material Notes: Sewn mats – a mechanically bound mat – are bound with a knitting thread (primarily polyester threads). Due to the fact that no binding material is used, these mats are used in thermosetting applications e.g. with unsaturated polyester, epoxy and vinyl ester resins as well as in thermoplastic applications.
