Master Bond EP22ND Two component, aluminum filled epoxy
Categories: Polymer; Thermoset; Epoxy

Material Notes: Key Features:
  • Easy processing
  • Exceptionally high compressive strength
  • Superior dimensional stability
  • Readily machinable
Product Description: Master Bond EP22ND is an aluminum filled, two component epoxy system for bonding, sealing and coating, with a paste consistency. It has a non-critical one to one mix ratio by weight or volume, and is formulated to cure at room temperature or more rapidly at elevated temperatures. Various cure schedules are noted in the chart below. After curing, its most noteworthy features are it is readily machinable and has especially high compressive strength. It also has low shrinkage upon cure. EP22ND bonds well to a wide variety of substrates including metals, ceramics, composites, rubbers and many plastics. It is appropriate for filling large gaps and voids up to 1 inch and beyond. The epoxy resists thermal cycling and has good chemical resistance to water, fuels and oils. Although it is aluminum filled, it is a still a good electrical insulator. It has an operating temperature range of -60°F to +250°F. The color of Parts A and B is gray. Master Bond EP22ND can be used in aerospace, specialty OEM, and chemical processing, among many other applications where a machinable epoxy with a paste consistency is needed. It is also useful for repair and refurbishing machinery and other types of industrial processing equipment.

Product Advantages:

  • Non-critical 1:1 mix ratio by weight or volume
  • Paste consistency
  • Long working life
  • Easily machined
  • Low shrinkage upon curing
  • High compressive strength
