Dysprosium Iodide is insoluble in water, and is often used in the synthesis of fine chemicals, and as a heat and light stabilizer for nylon fabrics. High purity, submicron and nanopowder forms may be considered. Iodide compounds are used in internal medicine. Treating an iodide with manganese dioxide and sulfuric acid sublimes the iodine.
