Master Bond Supreme 17HTND-2 One component toughened epoxy system
Categories: Polymer; Thermoset; Epoxy

Material Notes: Key Features:
  • Convenient handling
  • Paste consistency
  • Resists thermal cycling
  • Passes NASA low outgassing
Product Description: Master Bond Supreme 17HTND-2 is a one component toughened epoxy for bonding and sealing. It is a paste with no flow upon curing. It is formulated to cure at 300°F in 4 to 6 hours or 350°F in 2 to 4 hours. To obtain the utmost in optimum properties, curing at 300°F for 4 to 6 hours plus a post cure of 8 to 12 hours at 350°F is recommended. It is important to note that Supreme 17HTND-2 is not premixed and frozen and its working life is unlimited at room temperature. It will only cure upon heating. The recommended storage condition for Supreme 17HTND-2 is refrigeration. Supreme 17HTND-2 has many desirable characteristics, especially the combination of high shear and peel strength. It bonds well to a wide variety of substrates including metal, ceramics, composites and several plastics. As mentioned above, it is a toughened system, meaning that it is less rigid than a more conventional high temperature resistant epoxy. Therefore, it fits well for bonding dissimilar substrates. This toughness also imparts the capability of withstanding thermal cycling. The service temperature range is from -100°F to +550°F. It is 100% reactive and does not contain any solvents or diluents. It is a reliable electrical insulator, even at elevated temperatures. The color is black. Supreme 17HTND-2 can be considered for specialty bonding/sealing applications where convenient processing, high temperature resistance and the ability to withstand thermal cycling are important factors.

Product Advantages:

  • Single component system; no mixing prior to use
  • Easy to apply
  • Good physical strength properties
  • Toughened system; fits well for bonding dissimilar substrates
  • High glass transition temperature
