American Elements Zirconium Oxide Nanopowder
Categories: Ceramic; Oxide; Zirconium Oxide

Material Notes: General Description

Zirconium Oxide or Zirconia Nanopowder or Nanoparticles (ZrO2), nanodots or nanocrystals are white high surface area particles available in monoclinic or as stabilized or doped with yttria (yttrium oxide), calcia (calcium oxide), or magnesia (magnesium oxide), or phosphorized zirconia. Nanoscale Zirconium Oxide Nanoparticles are typically 5 - 100 nanometers (nm) with specific surface area (SSA) in the 25 – 50 m 2 /g range. Nano Zirconium Oxide Particles are also available in Ultra high purity and high purity and coated and dispersed forms. Applications for Zirconium oxide or zirconia nanocrystals include as a support for active catalytic metals, such as ceria and platinum (ceria-zirconia nanoparticles), in micro-ceramics, when doped with yttria in solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) electrolyte microlayers, to absorb radionucleotides, and in coatings, plastics, nanowire, nanofiber and textiles and in certain bioscience applications.
