Master Bond EP42-2LV Black Two component epoxy
Categories: Polymer; Thermoset; Epoxy

Material Notes: Key Features:
  • Easy to use mix ratio
  • Long working life
  • Black colored, optically opaque
  • Meets NASA low outgassing specification
Product Description: Master Bond EP42-2LV Black is a room temperature curable, two component epoxy for bonding, sealing, coating and casting featuring very good chemical and temperature resistance. This lower viscosity system has an easy to use 100 to 40 mix ratio by weight or 100 to 50 by volume. It has a relatively long working life as well as lower exotherm. EP42-2LV Black is suitable for larger potting and encapsulation applications. It cures at ambient or elevated temperatures, with the optimum being overnight at room temperature followed by 2-4 hours at 150-200°F. EP42-2LV Black bonds well to a wide variety of substrates, such as metals, composites, ceramics, glass and many rubbers and plastics. Its forte is its resistance to a wide variety of acids, bases, solvents, fuels, oils and salts. It also has excellent electrical insulation properties. Its service temperature range is from -60°F to +350°F. The color of Part A is black and Part B is light amber. Upon mixing, it is optically opaque. This versatile system is a viable candidate for applications in the aerospace, electronic, optical and specialty OEM industries, where this very special set of product properties is desirable.

Product Advantages:

  • Easy to use mix ratio
  • Low viscosity and good flow
  • Lower exotherm
  • Robust chemical resistance
  • Especially useful as a coating or potting material
