Oschatz-Glas PD PowerStrand® HMC9-68 Textile Glass Fiber
Categories: Ceramic; Glass; Glass Fiber; Other Engineering Material; Composite Fibers

Material Notes: The solution for applications where conventional E-glass fibers have reached their limits! A high modulus glass scores with strong performance for extreme demands. Whether used as roving, cut glass or fabric in combination with other materials, with PD Powerstrand® Oschatz-Glas has created a reliable product that guarantees protection and safety in both the private and public sector. PD PowerStrand® is characterized by far better physical properties compare to E-glass fibers. Particularly higher tensile strength and increased impact resistance are the most important properties for this glass fiber type. Key facts for many applications are positive properties such a slow dead weight, fire and smoke protection, sound insulation as well as radio and radar permeability.

ADVANTAGE:

  • Better mechanical values (Strength und E-Modulus)
  • higher tensile strength
  • increased impact resistance
  • fire protection
  • noise protection
  • non conducting
  • low weight
  • radio waves and radar permeability remain
  • insulations
APPLICATIONS:
  • roving / automotive: timing belt
  • roving fabric / aircraft: Laminate in the aircraft; Floor plates; Interior
  • roving fabric / ballistics: panels for body armors; helmets; vehicle armor; object protection; shatter protection; Chopped strands / domestic appliance
