Lucas-Milhaupt AL 719 Aluminum Brazing Filler Metal
Categories: Metal; Nonferrous Metal; Aluminum Alloy; Solder/Braze Alloy

Material Notes:

Applications:AL 719 filler metal is generally used to join aluminum and aluminum alloys. It has been used to join castings and otherwise unbrazeable aluminums. Care must be taken to be sure that the heat treatment (if any) is compatible with the brazing materials and process. Because of this high alloy content of AL 719, the corrosion resistance is not as good as other aluminum filler metals.

Characteristics:AL 719 is a filler metal for use with brazeable aluminums where a flux process is used. Because of its high zinc content this material is not recommended for vacuum brazing. To prevent liquation, it is recommended that the parts be heated rapidly thru the solidus-liquidus temperature range.

Specifications: AL 719 meets the requirements for the following specifications-Aluminum Association (AA) 4245
