DuPont Trancend™ Extrusion Coating Sealant

Material Notes: DuPont™ Trancend™ is an ethylene acrylic acid ionomer, expressly designed for extrusion coating, using a new generation of manufacturing technology. This new technology has allowed DuPont to produce a resin of exceptional value, with unique performance characteristics. The resin is designed to run on standard extrusion coating equipment that is designed to process low density polyethylene and standard ethylene copolymers.

Characteristics:

  • Designed as sealant resin capable of unprimed adhesion to aluminum surfaces
  • Heat seal temperatures comparable to DuPont™ Surlyn® 1652 and 9% EAA DuPont™ Nucrel® resins
  • Good hot-tack and seal through contamination performance
  • Cost effective and monolayer and coextruded structures
  • Foil bond durability in the presence of alcohol and oil containing products
