Old Hickory M-33 Kentucky Ball Clay  (discontinued **)
Categories: Ceramic; Clay; Ball Clay

Material Notes: The M-33 ball clay is a carbonaceous selection that bears similarity to some clays found in the Southwestern section of England. It has a uniquely waxy type of plasticity and provides high green and dry strength to a variety of white ware ceramic formulations. especially sanitary ware. The organic content is largely of colloidal size, which offers the added advantage of rheology stability and ease of casting slip deflocculation. Due to this rich source of colloidal organic content, our M-33 should be considered as an additive type clay in percentages of 50% or less of the total ball clay content of white ware formula.
